Develops and implements programs of Christian Education for the congregation. Meets monthly to coordinate, review and refine plans and recruit leadership and participants for programs such as Church School for children, youth and adults, the Adult Education hour, the weekly adult Bible Study, and other short-term and on-going opportunities to grow in knowledge and understanding of our faith and its practice. The chairpersons for the 2009 program year are Diana Davis and Marcia Schattauer . Pastor Vernice Thorn is Support Staff for Education. Please contact either if you have an idea you would like the Committee to pursue or if you are interested in joining the Committee. Children Ministry Sunday begins with choir 9:45-10:15 led by Jenn Petersen and Emily McConnell. 10: 20- all the children gather for prayers and offerings. The children then separate into two groups 3-5 year olds led by Diana, Jenn , Ramiro and Lisa 6 and older led by Mark and Hannah The nursery care is available for those who are younger on the upper level. Sunday school ends at 10:55 so that the children can participate in worship and share a special moment with the pastors during the “Children’s Word” What we have been doing! Making sack lunches for the homeless Creating Valentine cards for Seniors Offering a week worth of our offering to a children’s hospital in Kenya Learning and sharing the ‘Last Supper’ with Pastor Vernice Singing in worship with the adult choir Collecting can goods for our community pantry Decorating the tree with mittens and gloves for those in need.
