Broadway Choir

The Broadway Choir is a 30+ voice ensemble of volunteers who sing regularly during 11:00am Sunday morning worship at Broadway UMC.

The Broadway Choir performs SATB music in a wide variety of genres. The season typically begins in Early September and continues into June. The group meets on Wednesdays from 7:15-8:45pm. And again on Sundays at 10:15-10:45am (to prepare for the 11:00am service).

The Broadway Choir has recorded two CDs, 2001's Sing and Be Not Silent, and 2002's The Light of All the World, a Christmas CD.

The Broadway Choir also presents one or two concerts a year. Most recent concerts included “Weapons of Change” and “The Friendly Beasts” in 2007. “A Festival of Spirituals” and “Broadway Does Broadway” in 2004.

A featured choir of the 2008 Lakeview East Festival of the Arts, the Choir has also been the guest of the 2004 UMC Global Board of Pensions Annual Board Dinner, the 2003 Chicago Marathon, the 2003 Human Rights Campaign Annual Chicago Dinner with John Kerry as keynote speaker, the 2002 Annual Conference of the Northern Illinois UMC, the 2001 Lakeview Action Coalition Convention, and the 2001 Methodists for Social Action Ball Award Dinner.
